As the year 2020 draws to a close, let’s look to the future instead of the games that will take place in 2021. This year brought us many new games and the release of a new generation of consoles that would define the game for the coming year. We are looking forward to the improvements that the games will bring in 2021.
Here are some games from the Xbox series that we can (hopefully) play next year!
Far 6
A first-person shooter game takes place on a fictional Caribbean island called Yara, where players join the guerrilla resistance against the dictator Anton Castillo (represented by Giancarlo Esposito). As the trailer shows, the dictator brought his son to show him the ropes of leadership. He is now determined to break the resistance once and for all.
Players get the chance to play Dani Rojas as a female or male character, a feature similar to that of Valhalla Creed Assassin’s protagonist, Avor. What’s more, Ubisoft brought back the Guns for Hire, also called Amigos for Hire element, where players could hire people to fight against them. (Psst, there’s a cute wheelchair doll we think is worth borrowing).
The release date for Far Cry 6 has not yet been set, but according to some sources and speculations it could be published in May 2021.
Malicious villagers
It continues where we left off in Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, Ethan and Mia will come back to it. The first-person survival game takes place in a scary old village, giving it a gothic look, and there will be a lot of action.
We also see the return of Chris Redfield, the protagonist of the first Resident Evil, but he seems even crazier and more antagonistic. The reason for his actions will only be announced after the match, so we’ll have to wait and see. Apparently there are other unpleasant characters like an old witch and a beast that can be a werewolf that players have to discover (or flee).
However, there is speculation that the game could be released in April 2021 – so stay tuned!
Psychonauts 2
The long-awaited sequel to Psychonauts, which came out in 2005. The loyal fans and platform players have been waiting for the release of this jewel for about fifteen years. I hope we don’t have to wait too long!
Psychonauts 2 continues where the first game left off. Raz uses her psychic skills to get into other people’s minds with her psychonaut friends. When Raz realizes that the organization he came to work for has turned to the dark side and wants to bring back the psychic villain, he has to fight and stop them.
This 3D platform game will be released in 2021, as the launch window has been pushed back several times, mainly because of the pandemic.
Hitman 3
One of our favorite assassins is back in the Hidden Hitman 3. Agent 47 will carry out his missions and assassinations in six different countries with absolute precision. Some changes have been made to the game, including removing the multiplayer and ghost modes, and adding several new modes: Elusive targets, escalation and contracts.
Hitman 3 is considered Agent 47’s most personal mission, and this mission will change his life forever. It is also the last game of the World Assassination trilogy for Hitman. As a final game, players will be able to import the two previous Hitman games into this one for full playback.
The game will be released in about a month, on January 20, 2021, so we don’t have to wait too long to see this masterpiece in action.
Vampire mask: Blood lines 2
The vampire masquerade continues: The bloodlines, the history of the game and its legacy will live on. The first game became a cult game for RPG players with its interesting characters and fascinating story. Not to mention the fact that this suite has been around for 16 years! It’s not like vampires, but for us humans, time is over.
In this sequel, the story takes place in Seattle, where your character joins a group of vampires who break a masquerade by kidnapping and transforming people. Something’s very wrong, because this act is punishable by death for vampires.
The competition was originally scheduled to start in March 2020, but was then postponed until an unknown date. The game should last about 25 to 30 hours, and includes a variety of activities related to the story. There will also be improvements to the character creation and the background aspect of the game, they say it will be more customized, which is always good news for an RPG.
Infinite Halo
The final chapter of this FPS space trilogy will come soon enough, continuing the story of Master Chief and the sequel to Halo 5: Guard. The game will have a more open world and the inclusion of a day/night cycle compared to previous versions.
The multiplayer mode of Halo Infinite will also be free, but there will be no battles in the Battle Royale mode, which is a rather bitter victory. The exiles have also returned as enemies against which the chief will resist. As usual, new weapons will appear and the blacksmith mode will also make a comeback.
The game was originally scheduled for Christmas 2020, but after a massive response from fans to the announcement of the game, Microsoft decided to postpone the game. The new release date is scheduled for autumn 2021.
