Microsoft Announces Surface Laptop 4 with 11th Gen Intel Core and AMD Ryzen 4000 Series Processors

Microsoft has announced its latest competitor to Apple’s MacBook line: the Surface Laptop 4. This year’s devices retain the iconic Alcantara design and wrist rests of its predecessor, but offer better performance thanks to new processors, including the 11th generation. These include fourth-generation Intel Core mobile processors (i5-1135G7, i7-1185G7) and AMD Ryzen 4000 mobile series processors with Radeon graphics (Ryzen 5 4680U, Ryzen 7 4980U). It’s not clear why Microsoft chose the older Zen 2 chips over the Ryzen 5000 series with the more efficient Zen 3 cores, but Surface Laptop 4 units can be ordered starting today for a starting price of $999.99.
