Welcome to the first edition of PlayStation Weekly! I appreciate you taking the time to check out the latest PlayStation games. Now that word is spreading and we are about to launch PS5, you can expect a lot of information here in the coming weeks! Now let’s talk about last week’s highlights.
Jim Ryan, President and Managing Director of Sony Interactive Entertainment, spoke about future sales projections for PS5. Mr Ryan stated that he believes that the sale of PS5 will exceed the sale of PS4 (resale) in the first fiscal year. The PlayStation 4 has sold about 7 million units in its first financial year, but the fact that Jim Ryan predicts that the PS5 will overshadow these numbers gives us hope for the large number of consoles that will be launched in the first financial year. Although it’s not too much for those hoping for a new wave of pre-orders (come on, Sony! We know you haven’t finished the pre-orders yet!), it should offer some comfort to those who are about to make a purchase on or after the launch day. If you are hoping for a new wave or pre-order, you should keep an eye on our website and social media pages. We will publish all news on this front immediately.
The call of duty: Cold War Black Ops will begin open beta testing this week.
That’s right, another year, another matter of Call of Duty. Do you want to watch the game before you buy it? This weekend you have the chance to test it in beta form. PS4 players who want to play the beta can do so from the 10th to the 12th minute. October. Players can download a free open beta this Saturday morning and play at 10:00 PT. In the meantime, fans who have already ordered the game can download it now and play it earlier. Early access to the beta version starts on the 8th. October at 10:00 PT and will be played until the end of the beta. Unless, of course, the beta is released sooner, which is not really a surprise. The second beta test round is open to all PS4 owners from the 15th to the 19th century. October, so most of us have enough time to get there and test it.
Japanese banners are on PS5.
Last Sunday the Japanese streamers had the chance to continue working on PS5, and so far we’ve only been able to say good things, not that we should expect less. Players have bragged about the fact that the PS5 hasn’t been released yet and about the speed of the download. I don’t think that’s too surprising, because those are the characteristics we’ve heard about. I think it’s just nice to hear that some players confirm that these characteristics seem to be equivalent to what they’ve told us. I think that the only thing I can think of is that I don’t know if they really play fully assembled games or if they are just demonstrations that can slightly reduce the download time and the heat generated by the console and make it seem as if the console would not take off on the runway. Of course I hope that the final product will allow for a quiet and fast load, but let’s be honest, we’ve been cheated before. When I look at you, PS4… They must be deep black, not deep black!
Flavours
In this week’s goodies section, I’m going to inform you very quickly about a number of video games that may or may not be useful to you, but that may be useful to someone. Anyway, news is news, so let’s go back to that.
Today, the 6th. October, Apex Legends begins a crossover game. The long-awaited crossover game is what Apex Legends fans have been waiting for. For those who are not interested in cross-game, remember that cross-game is now enabled by default and you need to disable it manually to play strictly on the same platform.
The Ghost of Tsushima will receive the free cooperative mode on 16 October. Specifically, the Legend cooperative mode. In addition to a free update for the cooperative mode, New Game+ offers some trophies to collect. The new game+ will provide players with extra items when they resume their journey through Tsushima. It seems that new items and trophies (which don’t affect the platinum trophy) are only transferred to New Game+ players, so all you have to do is beat the game and start again if you want to get that new horse, among other things.
It takes a fast, hot chase to get a remasterium treatment. Following the leaks, rumours and speculations that appeared in the network last week, EA confirms that Hot Pursuit will indeed be launched on 6 January. November on PS4, Xbox One and PC (steam) is launched. That’ll be the 13th. November in the Nintendo Switchboard.
By the way, regarding Need For Speed’s amortization, Need For Speed can already be downloaded free of charge for PS Plus subscribers as of today. The current decline in PS Plus also includes VAMPYR, which is approaching October. Both games are quite decent, and it’s a big drop for those who do not have them yet.
