If you have ever played a video game, you’ve probably heard of the term “tutorial” by now. It’s a sort of tutorial that’s meant to teach you how to play a game. For example, in the Super Mario Bros franchise, the first level of each game is a tutorial in which Mario is taught how to run and jump. However, not all tutorials are made the same. This week, I’ll be taking a look at a type of tutorial that is often overlooked.
We all have a bunch of games that we play for a while and then never touch again. That’s fine if they’re games that you’re not too proud of. But sometimes there are games you can’t seem to get out of your head. Games that make you feel happy, or sad, or confused. Games that you can’t stop thinking about, even when you’re not playing them.
The Nintendo Switch is a curious device. It almost feels like it was designed to be modular, or at least capable of being modified in some drastic way. In Final Fantasy XIV, Magicked Prisms are consumable goods. They use dazzling, transient illusions to give a whimsical touch to in-game festivities.

There are a lot of fancy phrases in this, but they are just window dressing for a pretty basic idea.
For example, if you use this Magicked Prism, your character will get luminous wings for a brief time.
Magicked Prisms are simply aesthetic, so don’t get your hopes up about cat guys flying over the sky.
You’ll still need to get on a mount if you want to fly.
Some prisms have the appearance of fireworks, while others may show a symbol, glitter, or scatter confetti.
Pop a Magicked Prism if you’ve been traveling for a long time and don’t feel like you’ve had enough panache in your life lately.
With a pair of heavenly wings or a tiny fireworks show, it’s hard to be sad.
There’s also a large selection of Magicked Prisms to choose from.
They’re all quick and sassy ways to inject some cool into any setting.
Have you just completed that difficult raid? Confetti, confetti, confetti.

It is entirely up to you whether or not Magicked Prisms are worth your attention.
You may be reading this because you’re eager to get your hands on some. You may already be thinking about how much you can get for the damned things.
For Magicked Prisms, there isn’t a lot of material to cover, but we’ll go through the fundamentals below.
What Is the Best Way to Get Magicked Prisms?
Magicked Prisms may be found in a number of places.
“How can I prevent obtaining Magicked Prisms?” is a simpler question to ask, and the solution is “stand in Limsa Lominsa doing nothing for hours.”
Even that option isn’t completely risk-free.
Someone would undoubtedly think you were sad and try to cheer you up by trading you 99 Magicked Prisms.

When the game hasn’t given you a more concrete reward (such hairstyles, minions, etc.) and doesn’t want you to feel like you’ve wasted your time, you’ll typically be given a lot of these.
Magicked Prisms are likewise not available for purchase or sale on the Market Boards, which is probably for the best.
Everything else would be drowned out by the sheer number of them. We’d be having our stuff delivered with the things all on it.

Is it Possible to Use Magicked Prisms?

No, not really in terms of actual gaming applicability.
You may either sell them for a pittance to merchants or set off pyrotechnics at an inopportune moment.
When you don’t receive the nice things after finishing an activity, you get Magicked Prisms as a consolation reward.
If you haven’t figured it out now, I’m not a huge fan of Magicked Prisms. Sure, some of them are great, and there are certain consumables that should simply be normal emotes, like the Party Popper and huge novelty champagne bottles.
However, most of the time when you see a Prism, you were expecting something more, and as a consequence, they become strangely associated with disappointment.
But it’s possible that I’m simply grumpy. I’ve seen some gamers get a lot of enjoyment out of a short usage of the Magicked Prism.
