NBA 2K22 Rookie Ratings – Gamer Journalist

The NBA 2K22 Ratings are finally here and it’s time to see how the new rookies stack up. I’ll be breaking down all the ratings, best players, and more in this article.

The nba2k21 review is a new game released by 2K Sports. It has been met with mixed reviews, but it does have some interesting features such as the Rookie Ratings.

We’re less than two months away from the start of the NBA regular season and a few weeks away from the highly anticipated release of NBA 2K22 (September 10th). With ‘basketball fever’ in the air, it’s time to take a closer look at 2K Sports’ most recent announcement: NBA 2K22’s official rookie ratings.

Player ratings are, without a doubt, the most closely watched and critiqued revelations leading up to the release of NBA 2k games. Fans and players alike aren’t shy about sharing their thoughts about their favorite player’s 2k rating (or their own!).

The top 5 rookies were announced on Friday (August 20th) in the newest 2K22 player ratings news, laying out the NBA’s most outstanding prospects ahead of the next season.

Rookie Ratings for NBA 2K22:

Cade Cunningham (80) is a member of the Detroit Pistons.

As anticipated, the NBA’s most recent #1 draft selection will be the top-rated rookie in NBA 2K22, closely followed by his Texas (Green) and Ohio (Red) equivalents (Mobley). Cunningham is coming off a strong summer league performance in which he averaged 18.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.3 blocks, and 1.7 steals per game while shooting 43 percent from the field and 50 percent from three-point range across three games. It’s no surprise that the first selection in the draft has the highest 2k rating.

Houston Rockets’ Jalen Green (79).

Jalen Green is perhaps Cade Cunningham’s sole (present) active opponent for the Rookie of the Year title. Green is not only one of the most talented players in this year’s draft, but he also put up big numbers against Cuddingham during their summer league battle. Jalen Green is also coming off a fantastic summer league performance in which he averaged over 20 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists in three games while shooting 51 percent from the field, 53 percent from three-point range, and 92 percent from the free throw line. All of this, along with the fact that he was the 2nd overall selection in the NBA Draft, earns him the 2nd overall rating in 2k.

Cleveland Cavaliers’ Evan Mobley (78)

Evan Mobley entered the draft with the potential for the greatest ceiling, and he showed it off during his pre-season appearances in the NBA Summer League, although in a limited capacity. Mobley didn’t dominate the stat sheet, but he showed glimpses of why he was selected third overall in June. Now we’ll have to see whether he can live up to his billing as NBA 2K22’s third-best rookie.

Orlando Magic’s Jalen Suggs (77)

With the exception of 4th-rated Jalen Suggs and 5th-rated Scottie Barnes, the NBA 2K22 ranking nearly precisely matches the NBA Draft order. Jalen, on the other hand, had one of the greatest Summer League performances of anybody on this list, averaging 15.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game in three games while shooting 41% from the field and 50% from beyond the arc. Many people thought Suggs was better than Barnes when he entered the NBA draft, so it’s no surprise that he’s ahead of Barnes in the early 2k ratings. Keep in mind that the 2k ratings will vary during the season as the league does.

Scottie Barnes (76) is a member of the Toronto Raptors.

Scottie Barnes was one of the greatest shocks of the NBA Draft, both in terms of where he ended up and his post-selection response (cue the “Barnes-shimmy”). He has, however, greatly exceeded expectations so far, finishing his summer league debut with 15.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 2 blocks, and 1 steal in four games played, all while shooting 41% from the field. The Florida State guard is 6’7″ tall with a whopping 7’3″ wingspan, giving him a rare blend of height, strength, length, and court awareness. Barnes is still a work in progress, but if history has taught us anything, it’s that Masai Ujiri (usually) hits the nail on the head with these kind of selections.
