Although we are a site that focuses on portable games, every now and then a game is submitted on Kickstarter and/or Steam that looks promising and likely to be presented on the Switch.
Beacon Pines is a cute and scary adventure game set in a magical story. You play both the reader of the book and the main character, Luke. The game has a Kickstarter campaign where 1,345 backers have pledged over $49,000. The campaign runs until 5pm. In March, with a goal of $30,000, the campaign was already fully funded. There is no confirmed release date for the game yet, but there is a free demo of the game on Steam that you can try out. But a Switch release is also planned!

The world of the picture book
Beacon Pines is, of course, a wonderful game that wants to enter the world of history books. It is a narrative adventure in which you play a young deer named Luke. Luke’s father is dead and his mother is missing, poor kid! Because of his situation, Luca lives with his grandmother and spends his days with his best friend Rolo.

The town they live in looks nice and peaceful, but appearances are deceiving, and Rolo has heard rumors about an abandoned warehouse that could turn everything in town upside down!
The plot of Beacon Pines is interesting, the history book appeals to you. The story of Beacon Pines does not end with the missing words in the story. You can change the course of the story at certain points in the game, when you are trained in the storybook to play the events that unfold according to your choices.

You change the course of history with Charms, Charms finds flagship pines developed through interaction with the environment. Each spell has a word associated with it, and at plot points you put a particular spell in the place of the missing word.

By collecting the Prestige and using it to disrupt events in history, you completely rewrite the fate of Beacon Pines. A single word can change the course of history. A chronicle is a record of decisions made, it is a big tree in which you can see the turning points of history.
Once the decision is made, you can open the spell book at any time. And go back and change your mind with another choice of charm and see what happens to the story.

Discover the city
Each animal character in Beacon Pines has a unique personality, story, and motivation. You will meet completely different characters and discover new charms. Learn more about what happens in Beacon Pines based on the choices you make.
Besides exploring the city, you can go fishing in the nearby pond. Helping in the restaurant Last chance to prepare some meals. By combining the amulets you find, you can prepare meals and make hungry people happy.

In the demo you can explore a part of the city and some other areas. You can go back and use different amulets in the demo to change the outcome of your initial decision. The demo is enough to get a glimpse of the game.
The beautiful illustrations are drawn by Ilse Harting and are a true delight for the viewer. Beacon Pines has an original soundtrack by award-winning musician Matt Meyer, and it fits the game perfectly.

Beacon Pines promises amazing earthquakes, strange lights in the night, missing people, creatures lurking in the shadows, glowing puddles, and strange men in hazmat suits who seem to be very interested in all this.
