The January Development Diary [VIDEO]

GSC Game World claims that the development of the game is going according to plan.

Zakhar Bochalov, the studio’s PR manager, posted a message on Xbox Wire revealing the details of the gameplay trailer, which we also reported on earlier in the news. Let’s see what he has to say: Imagine that. The road is long and hard. The treacherous enemy zone. Incredible treasures that you can taste everywhere. The blood test that separates your old life from your new life…. It’s time to try and see what it looks like in the game. Fast-paced landscapes, menacing landscapes and a sense of impending danger are always present.

You see this world through the eyes of a stalker named Scyth – remember that code name, you’ll hear it often. Like its predecessors, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 presents a brand new protagonist. Her actions will form a new and important chapter in the history of the area. The short scene takes place in a ruined school on the outskirts of the dead city of Pripyat. This is an extremely dangerous place, and no one would want to be here alone. Still, it doesn’t look completely deserted: A freshly lit guitar fire can be seen nearby. But Skiph barely has time to admit it: He seems to be in a hurry. It seems there is imminent danger.

Here we go. Radiation. A key component of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, a powerful release of abnormal energy from the center of the zone. Emissions occur from time to time, which is extremely dangerous: He can kill you in an instant. When a stalker notices the onset of radiation, he or she should immediately hide and wait for it to end, hoping to break through. That’s why Skiff is in a hurry: He’s taking cover in the building next door. But the situation is anything but safe: The building is in disrepair and the PDA doesn’t seem to be working: The signal’s gone. If you think about it, it’s easy to miss someone hiding in the shadows. Although he looks familiar…

Some of our fans may recognize a barely perceptible guitar pattern. If this song gives you nostalgia, it’s from the song Life Line by the famous Russian rock band Splean. We thought it was a perfect fit for the scene we were creating. If this is the first time you’ve heard this song, we recommend listening to the full version – it’s both sad and moving. And very memorable, if you ask us.

Finally, we would like to conclude this update with an update on the current situation. We’re making good progress, even on the Xbox Series X / S version. The goal is to offer the highest quality product on every platform advertised. With support for fast SSDs, RTX (X and S Series), and 4K resolution (X Series), we’re excited to see how S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 develops into the enhanced experience we originally promised, he wrote.

We’ve integrated the song in question into an unplugged format below. He’s right – it does seem a bit sad and depressing, and it would go well with the compilation of Soviet airwaves on YouTube. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 will be available on the Xbox and PC series. Consoles also get it through the Xbox Game Pass. A release date has not yet been announced.
