New EXPLOITS found in The Legend of ZELDA: Skyward Sword

A new exploit has been found in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, which allows players to access the game’s final boss without completing the main story. This is not a bug, but rather an intentional feature that was implemented by Nintendo.

The skyward sword hd glitches is a new exploit that has been found in the game The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

In The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, new time-saving exploits have been discovered!

These are all bugs that speedrunners of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword are familiar with. These exploits, along with a slew of other improvements, have resulted in the world record time for the Any percent category being slashed by many hours in the last year. Despite this, Skyward Sword remains one of the most lengthy 3D Legend of Zelda speedruns (that crown is held by The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess).

The run isn’t as lengthy as it used to be!

After a discovery by speedrunner lepelog, the route has seen even more improvement in the last several months. The Boss Rush mini-game, which takes place towards the conclusion of the game, is one of the new methods. Lepelog found that this minigame supplied narrative advancement markers even if the player did not complete the game sequence in the correct order. This meant that if a player was able to get early access to the Boss Rush minigame, they could activate the narrative flags without having to battle the boss and bypass whole portions of the game. As fate would have it, Skyward Sword speedrunners were already aware of a bug that would allow this to happen.

Back in Time, or, more accurately, ReverseBiTMagic, or RBM for short, is a bug that has become well-known in the community. A runner would utilize the Back in Time bug to get to the Boss Rush mini-game sooner than usual. This glitch allows the game to return the player back to the title screen while also enabling the user to take control of Link. This enables the player to navigate Skyloft, a key location in the game, as well as interact with the map and save data. When specific activities are performed while a save file is chosen, such as interacting with trees, utilizing bird statues, or chatting to NPCs, the player may set up important narrative events on the title screen version of Skyloft, regardless of whether the file has seen such events previously or not. ReverseBiTMagic is the act of putting up these events on the Back in Time map and then loading them into your save file to skip sections of the game.

Runners may now use RBM to put up a narrative progression flag that enables them to play the Boss Rush minigame after gaining entry to the Lanayru area, where it begins. The Goddess’s Harp, one of two narrative dependencies needed to open the Gate of Time and enter the end game, is also collected by runners. The second need is to beat the second version of The Imprisoned, a recurring monster who is also the bestial form of Demise, Skyward Sword’s final boss. Now that runners have early access to the Boss Rush minigame, they may battle the necessary bosses, including The Imprisoned, and earn the narrative progression flag required to advance to the Gate of Time. The player may now fully skip the Ancient Cistern and Fire Sanctuary sections, as well as equipment like the slingshot, explosives, and the Beetle, among others. Overall, compared to the prior Any percent approach, this quick method saves approximately 35 minutes.

It’s just 35 minutes!

At the time of writing, the world record had fallen to an incredible 1:24:18, set by Japanese speedrunner SVA. Gymnast86, an American speedrunner, is just a few seconds behind with a time of 1:24:33. Gymnast86 was recently featured in Summer Games Done Quick Online 2020, where he played The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD at any percent. What will Zelda speedrunners discover next?
