How to defeat the Slig Mama boss in The Hijack in Oddworld: Soulstorm

In Oddworld: Soulstorm, Abe’s journey to free himself and the Mudokens, will test you with many puzzles and dangerous situations that will surely make you start up the checkpoints again and again until you get it right. Even scenarios teeming with enemies can be considered puzzles, as Abe usually has to use the environment and items in his inventory to his advantage. During the intercept, lead the Mudokens and move to the front of the train you want to capture. However, at the end of the level you will come across a giant furry suit called Slig Mama. Here’s how to beat it.

Once you get to the area where the play Sligh Mama takes place, you’ll see that the worker who jumped into the suit has dropped a torch near some propane tanks just below the machine. That’s your advice for beating the boss.

Before you leave the checkpoint, tell all the Mudokens you want to wait (hold down the D-pad), and make sure you refill the Soul Storm potion in the vending machine.

Slug Mama has two long-range sensors that detect you behind the boxes. As soon as they see you, they fire three missiles at once at your position. You can get hit by a missile, but as soon as the second missile hits you, you’ll be sent to the checkpoint and have to start over. The first few times you approach the boss, concentrate on recognizing the trajectory of the missiles and where to take cover.

First you have to pass a stack of boxes in the middle aisle. You can destroy the first crates and take your time between shootings to get past the last crate. Surprisingly, the missiles don’t seem to destroy the crates until they hit them directly.

When you get past the first few boxes, take cover so Slig Mama doesn’t see you. When they are done shooting, go to the top level and wait for the rocket to detonate the explosives box on the other side. Go down the stairs and wait for the chain reaction of fire and explosions that follows to clear the area of all wooden objects.

When all the boxes and obstacles in the way are burned, get the fire extinguisher. There’s nowhere to hide from the sensors, so Slig Mama is now constantly firing in your direction. Fortunately, there are a few places where the missiles will still hit the platforms. The lower path is generally safe, but be careful not to get too close or you’ll get hit. Extinguish the fire with a fire extinguisher, but don’t forget to save the royal jelly for when you really need it to heal.

Once you’ve created a safe lane, throw Soulstorms into the middle to land on a Blowtorch. You can also jump to the top left if you have trouble reaching the cutting torch from below. This should be a safe place where you can’t be touched. You can shoot under them, but you can’t reach the propane tanks on any of them.

Now comes the risky part. You need to aim your missiles between the top and bottom areas, and jump into the middle area on the right and throw Soulstorm on the propane tanks to connect the fire tail. If you do, you will hear a hissing sound. Quickly run to safety and wait for the explosion that will destroy Slig Mama. You’ll have to wait a few seconds for the propane tanks to explode.

Once Slig Mama is destroyed, run back and grab your Mudoken minions and head for the train brake where you complete the mission. You can steal Slig who was driving the car, and there are two enemies before the end, a flying Slig and a machine gun Slig.
