ASUS today announced the TUF Gaming VG28UQL1A 4K gaming monitor, which adds the latest HDMI 2.1 standard to its existing lineup of gaming monitors. The TUF Gaming VG28UQL1A is not just your average gaming monitor—it’s a monitor that’s designed to fit into the TUF Gaming family while delivering an ultra-high-resolution 4K experience at a refresh rate of 60 Hz.
ASUS today announced its newest addition to the TUF gaming line up, introducing the TUF Gaming line of monitors. The VG28UQ is an ultrawide 27-inch 4K display with a 120Hz refresh rate, designed to meet the demands of the gamer by offering a larger screen size with an ultra high refresh rate. ASUS said it is the world’s first 27-inch 4K monitor with an in-plane switching (IPS) display panel. This allows the TUF Gaming VG28UQ to deliver a 4,000,000:1 DCR and a contrast ratio of up to 1,000:1. It also offers a 100% sRGB color gamut.

Earlier this month, ASUS released a teaser video for their newest HDMI 2.1 gaming monitor, the TUF Gaming VG28UQL1A. For gamers looking for a 28-inch 4K IPS monitor with all the necessities for next-gen gaming on PC, Sony, and Microsoft’s newest consoles, that display is now available for purchase.
On the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, ASUS’ TUF Gaming VG28UQL1A offers a 144 Hz refresh rate, 1 ms (GTG) response time, and two HDMI 2.1 connections for native 4K 120 Hz gaming with chroma subsampling. NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium are also supported, as well as DisplayHDR certification for peak brightness levels of up to 400 nits.

In their press announcement, ASUS did not include the pricing of the TUF Gaming VG28UQL1A. The display has two HDMI 2.1 connections, as well as two HDMI 2.0 connectors and one DisplayPort port.
