8-Bit Inspired MetroidVania B.I.O.T.A. Announced

If you’ve been looking for a Metroidvania game with a heavy focus on exploration, then look no further. Bat in the Attic is an upcoming adventure game starring a cast of 8-bit friendly cats as they explore the ruined city of the past. How did this happen? It all started with a Pokemon-inspired 8-bit Metroidvania game, then a developer decided to switch it up and make it an 8-bit RPG.

Pitfall: The New Quest for Caves is a game that plays like a classic adventure game with some modern twists. The player explores a small island full of mysteries, monsters, traps, and hidden treasures, all while trying to uncover the secrets of the island. In Pitfall: The New Quest for Caves, the player can customize their character by changing the color of their skin, hair, and clothing, as well as the colors of their various items.

With an 8-bit aesthetic and a chiptune soundtrack, Small Bros and Retrovibe have announced that their MetroidVania B.I.O.T.A. is in development. Filled with deadly traps and mutated monsters, the player takes control of a team of Gemini 2 commandos sent to explore a mining colony where all communication has stopped. Players can choose from over eight different heroes and fight over 40 different degenerate monsters, ranging from mutated hornets to armed sentinels to deadly xenoshifters. These heroes come prepared; along the way, players can pilot a submarine, control mechas and even the mythical Pegasus. You will also find many weapons to unlock and various upgrades. To top it off, an 8-bit presentation with over 60 styles available in full color. A modern preservation system relieves some of the pressure everywhere.
