Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption is an RPG set in a mysterious castle called Hero University. Hero University is a place where young people learn to use their strengths and become worthy heroes of society.

Heroes University

You meet a mysterious stranger on the street, where you make your first decisions that will determine your future roleplaying. The mysterious stranger will lead you to the University of Heroes. When it came time to award the “Hero U” award, I spent a lot of time trying to find a way to set up enough activities to improve Sean’s skills. Most days you follow the same basic routine: Classes, gym, electives, dinner, break room, sneak in, bedtime, rehearsal.

Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption has many colorful locations, all well-designed and featuring wall ornaments, furniture and other landmarks. Each character also gets his or her own close-up portrait to accompany any on-screen text.

Not much in terms of animation, as there are no movie scenes. Instead, many important moments are celebrated with beautifully drawn still images. The game is also not loud, and you’ll have to be prepared to read a lot of text and multiple answers.

The music is decent, there are different themes for different parts of the castle and dungeons. This prevents the music from becoming repetitive, as is the case in some games.

Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption controls well with the Joy-Con, though I found Sean’s moves to be a bit wooden at times, but that’s just a minor criticism.

Conclusion

Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption is an old school classic featuring Harry Potter at a university. I found the game very slow at first. But after the first three to five hours, it started to get better, and I found that I did better on a school day. It’s a fun game, with lots of humor and a plot that develops as the game progresses.

Hero-U also offers plenty of replayability to explore different class options and different conversation paths or even romantic options. If you’re a fan of old school, classic, RPG/point and click, it’s true as far as form is concerned.
