Fortnite coming to mobile devices, with CROSSPLAY!!

Epic continues to challenge Battlegrounds by letting players on PS4, PC and mobiles (but not Xbox) play on the same servers.

Right now there is a war for Battle Royale players between Battlegrounds and Fortnite and just when the former camp presented a series of interesting news,Epic counters by announcing a mobile version of Fortnite. Certainly, Battlegrounds already has a mobile version but it is so far focused on the Asian market. Fortnite’s mobile version will be released globally and for the first time ever players on consoles, PCs and mobiles will be able to meet each other on the same battlefield.

Sony, who many believed hated crossplay, has invited the Playstation 4 version to work with PC and mobiles, which will be an interesting triangular frame. And already on Monday, you can sign up to test the IOS version (Android will come later). The attentive reader also notes that Xbox, the exclusive platform for Battlegrounds, is not part of this.

Hey Fortnite Community,

Fortnite Battle Royale is coming to mobile devices! On phones and tablets, Fortnite is the same 100-player game you know from PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac. Same gameplay, same map, same content, same weekly updates. Starting Monday, you can sign-up for the Invite Event on iOS. Support for Android will be coming in the next few months.

In partnership with our friends at Sony, Fortnite Battle Royale will support Cross Play and Cross Progression between PlayStation 4, PC, Mac, iOS and eventually Android. This means players across devices can squad up with friends and play together.

We believe this is the future of games. The same game on all platforms. Console quality graphics and action. Play when you want, where you want.
